Latitude and Longitude Coordinates

How to find latitude longitude?

Two ways:

1. Preferably use a GPS reading where school is located.

' OR

2. Use the city Coordinates (Latitudes and Longitude) through the website http://www.maplandia.com/ .
This website by Google gives the required coordinates by simply entering the city name.

How the Latitude and Longitude Coordinates are used

The coordinates indicate the location at which the seismic shaking is expected. Inputting the coordinates will tell the programme to assign a seismic hazard value to this location. This seismic hazard value is indicative of the maximum ground shaking that is expected due to an earthquake event. In scientific terms, this seismic hazard value is represented by a Maximum Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) value with a probability of 10% return in 50 years (or in other terms, a return probability of 95% in 500 years). Here, I have used the PGA values available from the Global Seismic Hazard Assessment Program (GSHAP), which was conducted during 1992 to1999 by the International Lithosphere Program (ILP) with the support of the International Council of Scientific Unions (ICSU). For more information on this programme refer to  http://www.seismo.ethz.ch/gshap/ .
